Lacewing Vineyard — practicing organic
Columbia Gorge AVA
Lacewing Vineyard is the oldest vineyard that we source from at 60 years old. It was planted to a clone of Pinot Noir called Mariafeld, which originates from Switzerland. This clone was originally intended for sparkling wines because of the high acids and later ripening but with higher temperature trends, this Pinot Noir is better suited for red wines now.
The grapes for this wine were macerated and fermented for two months before pressing. The pressed juice settled in stainless steel before racking to 500 liter and 600 liter neutral French oak barrels for aging.
Immediately pleasurable with bright cherry and raspberry aromas leading to a fresh finish of baking spices and cranberry. There are firm tannins that would marry well with wild mushroom or slow-cooked pork shoulder.
