77% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay Finnigan Hill Vineyard | Chehalem Mountains AVA 1000 feet elevation. Certified organic.
This dry, sparkling wine is named after Joe's favorite song ("Funnels") by his favorite guitar player, Allan Holdsworth. Dark cherry, forest floor, and mushroom aromas lead to a crunchy, red-fruited finish with some tannin from the whole cluster maceration. At 7.5% ABV, this is a perfect starter to a meal or if you're not a dessert person, it's also a nice way to finish. Nice and fresh!
Early picked Chardonnay juice was used to hydrate Pinot Noir skins in a piquette style. After a short maceration, the pomace was pressed and fermented in a stainless steel tank. The wine was bottled during harvest and left to ferment in bottle and then disgorger by hand in the summer of 2023.
