Equal parts Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer from two old-vine sites: 40-year-old Pinot Gris at West Haven Vineyard in the Willamette Valley and 60-year-old Gewürztraminer at Atavus Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge. Both grapes have pink-tinted skins, so 30 days on the skins brings amber color, tannin and grip while keeping the Gewürztraminer's aromatics intact.
Winemaking
50% Pinot Gris / 50% Gewürztraminer. Both fermented on skins for 30 days, each variety separately before pressing. Gewürztraminer aged in a 2,000-liter oval oak cask, Pinot Gris in neutral French oak barrels. Blended after separate élevage. 500 cases produced.

Tasting
Highly aromatic and textural, with the floral, exotic spice of old-vine Gewürztraminer layered over the savory, structured character of skin-contact Pinot Gris. Thirty days of maceration brings tannin, grip, and depth.
